Another player continues to stay with T1

After successfully retaining Keria and Oner, T1 continues to announce a contract extension with main AD carry Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong. This is the third player to commit to the team, further affirming T1’s stability and long-term strategy.

Sharing on T1’s social media platforms, Gumayusi expressed: “Hello, I am Gumayusi of T1. It is an honor to continue to be a part of the team and accompany the fans once again. I will do my best until I become the world’s number 1 AD carry”.

According to the announcement from T1, AD carry Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong has agreed to a 1-year contract extension, unlike his two teammates Oner and Keria, who signed a 2-year extension. This means that T1’s current roster will almost certainly continue to compete together in the 2025 season, with the exception of Zeus – the only player who has not decided to renew his contract.

However, T1 also faces major challenges in the near future. Early next year, the contracts of both Gumayusi and Faker will officially expire. Given the huge influence of this duo on the team’s success, finding replacements for both at the same time will be a difficult task.

Born in 2002, Gumayusi has spent his entire career playing for T1, affirming his position as one of the team’s best marksmen.

Gumayusi joined SKT T1 in late 2018 as a trainee. After the team changed its name to T1, he continued to be with the team as a substitute until he officially joined the main roster in the 2021 season. Initially, Gumayusi often rotated with Teddy, but since the Summer of 2021, he has affirmed his position as T1’s main AD carry and has maintained this role until now.

Since becoming the main AD carry, Gumayusi has always been highly appreciated in all aspects, from stable performance, outstanding laning ability to excellent combat skills. Many times, he has become an important factor helping T1 come back from difficult situations. Gumayusi’s impressive achievements with T1 include the 2022 LCK Spring Championship, the 2024 Esports World Cup, and especially two consecutive CKTG titles in 2023 and 2024.
